I love Rocky and with the support of AWS, Azure and GoogleCloud I am pretty sure its going to be the winner. Moved my Cent8 instances all over to rocky with the migration script with only minor issues relating to package conflicts.
Wont look back, RedHat/IBM had killed CentOS and honestly even openshift license fees have gone through the roof- moving from per socket to per core overnight basically killed at least two client projects of mine. imho IBM murder-death-killed CentOS and now walks around in its skin trying to keep all the market share with typical empty IBM promises.
RHEL is not my favorite. It’s cumbersome and many times just doesn’t work with software we try and install in comparison to other distros. We started looking at NixOS and other more source code declarative featured distros. Enterprise Linux needs a lot of work.
